WVEMS e-NEWSLETTER - February 14, 2020

PROTOCOL UPDATE WORKGROUP SEEKS PROVIDER MEMBERS

The WVEMS Regional Medical Direction Committee is gearing up for the next round of protocol updates. The RMDC will appoint a "Protocol Workgroup" to begin work very soon. This workgroup will consist of several OMDs with broad experience in protocol development, and will also include nine providers from across the region as advisory members who will play an important role in the process. We are seeking three experienced EMS providers (ALS level preferred) from each of our three planning districts (Roanoke-Alleghany, Piedmont, and New River Valley), for a total of nine providers to serve on this workgroup. The workgroup will meet regularly (probably monthly), with a combination of day and evening meetings. A conference call line will be available for these meetings, however in-person attendance is encouraged whenever possible. This is a very important commitment. If you have interest in serving on the Protocol Workgroup for the coming 12 months (or longer), please send an email to wvprotocols at vaems.org<mailto:wvprotocols at vaems.org> with your contact information and a brief background including your level of certification and length of EMS service no later than Friday, February 21. The Regional Medical Direction Committee will announce the selections no later than March 15.

SEND AN EMAIL EXPRESSING YOUR INTEREST NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 21 TO:
wvprotocols at vaems.org<mailto:wvprotocols at vaems.org>
Include your name and contact information, EMS background, and any other information that you feel would make you a good candidate for this appointment.
