To all TEMS list subscribers, committee members and others: Please take
a moment to complete a simple, 4 question on-line survey related to our
Response Newsletter. We are trying to determine what changes, if any, we
need to make to the distribution and content of Response. You input is
vital. One or two minutes of your time could make a big difference.
Please visit www.tidewaterems.org and a pop-up will prompt you to
participate in the survey. If no pop-up, you'll also see a link to the
survey in the News and Events block. Thank you very much.

The annual Tidewater Regional EMS Awards nominations are due by June 15.
Please nominate one or more deserving peers or an agency. Award
categories include EMS provider, EMS instructor, EMS agency, EMS
physician, Emergency Nurse, EMS for Children, EMS contribution, EMS
administrator and Overall EMS excellence . Also, if your EMS agency has
affiliated high school students please encourage high school seniors to
apply for the $1000 scholarship. The regional award nomination is
available on-line or by downloading the forms at:
www.tidewaterems.org/awards/Awards%202007/nomination.htm
Regional award winners will go on to become state award nominees
(historically several of our nominees have won each year). The regional
scholarship winner will complete for a $5000 scholarship at the state
level. Just 25 days remaining until the nomination deadline. Now is a
good time to gather information for a good nomination. If your agency
has its own awards program, please make sure that those recipients are
forwarded on as regional nominees in appropriate categories. Thank you,
and your nominee(s) will thank you as well. If you need assistance,
please contact Heidi Gamblin in our office gamblin at vaems.org or 757
963-0632 x307.

Finally, some important incident command, mass casualty and WMD course
offerings are posted on our website. A Mass Casualty Incident Management
combined I and II course and two Incident Response to Terrorist Bombing
courses have been added to the schedule which also includes several ICS
300 and 400 courses. Visit the HRMMRS training webpage for a schedule
and links to register. All are no-cost courses open to EMS personnel,
first responders, healthcare providers and other public safety personnel
as appropriate. (Note: ICS300 and 400 are generally for supervisory
level personnel and above.)

Please forward this to other EMS personnel and EMS agency listservs in
