Subject: VSS NEWS ALERT: Virginia Stroke Systems Ambassador Panel
launches
Importance: High

Virginia Stroke Systems (VSS) launches new support service to provide
information and consultation for enhancement of acute stroke care
systems in Virginia.

The VSS Ambassador Panel (VSS AP) is an 11-member team of recognized and
dedicated stroke professionals invested in providing the best stroke
care possible. The VSS AP process will allow them to share expert
knowledge with other acute care providers across the state. Panel
members (current roster attached) will respond to your questions with
answers based on science and and examples of best practice. The
Ambassador Panel is prepared to answer questions about EMS operations,
ED work-up, stroke center development, hospital infrastructure,
administrative management, or any question related to the development of
an acute care system for stroke. There is no charge for this service.

To submit a question to the Panel, email directly to
Va.StrokeSystems at heart.org. Please articulate your question as clearly
and concisely as possible, to help streamline processing of your
request. All questions and information shared will be strictly
confidential. We encourage you to save this email (and add the address
to your CONTACTS list) for easy access in the future.

Help others tap into this vital service: Please forward this Alert to
any acute stroke care providers you know in Virginia who may have an
interest!

If you have received this Alert and are not currently a member of the
Virginia Stroke Systems Stakeholder group, you may register to be
included on future opportunities related to Virginia Stroke Systems
(including stroke prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation) by
completing the attached membership form and faxing back to Virginia
Stroke Systems at 804-965-6422.

Virginia Stroke Systems (VSS) is a collaborative of the American Heart
Association/American Stroke Association, Virginia Council
(804-965-6571), the Virginia Department of Health, Heart Disease and
Stroke Prevention Project (804-864-7877) and many other stroke
stakeholders across the state. The development of stroke systems is
based upon the ASA Policy Statement Recommendations for the
Establishment of Stroke Systems, 2005. Further information about the
policy statement can be found at www.americanheart.org
<http://www.americanheart.org/> .

Views expressed by the VSS Ambassador Panel do not necessarily reflect
the position of the American Heart Association/American Stroke
Association, but are the knowledgeable opinions of the stroke
professionals serving in this capacity.
