[Temslist] Statewide Study of Regional EMS Councils

The Virginia Office of EMS will soon contract with a firm to conduct a
statewide study of the regional EMS council system. Part of the study
will involve questionaires or interviews with EMS system stakeholders
across the state. In preparation for this study, the Board of Directors
of the Tidewater EMS Council asked a committee of board members to
develop a set of talking points in response to likely questions that
might be asked by the consulting firm, and to share the talking points
with EMS leaders throughout the region. The talking points, which are
attached to this email, are intended to provide some background
information and facts regarding the Tidewater EMS Council. Two
additional documents included in this package and referenced in the
talking points are the Board of Directors position description and an
excerpt from the current contract between the Tidewater EMS Council and
the Virginia Department of Health. Many people may not know what,
exactly, the state requires of a regional EMS Council at present, so the
excerpt from the state contract may help in that regard. The council

good source of additional information about the council as needed.
