Protocol Update:  The 9th Edition of the Tidewater Regional EMS
Protocols will soon go to press. Expect distribution in the next month
or two. All ALS providers will receive a pocket-size version of the
protocols and each agency, hospital ED and OMD will receive a desk
reference notebook version. It will also be posted on the council's
website. This edition received extensive EMS public review and
suggestions during an earlier comment period. Thanks to all who reviewed
and commented on the protocols.
 
The Virginia Office of EMS has hired a consulting firm to study the
statewide regional EMS council system. The consultant will be visiting
the Tidewater region on March 22. System leaders are invited to meet
privately with the consulting firm representative that day at the
Tidewater EMS Council office. To make a 15 or 30 minute appointment,
contact TEMS Executive Director Jim Chandler chandler at vaems.org or 757
963-0632 x 308.  Time slots are still available in the afternoon.
