The Virginia Information Technologies Agency Integrated Services Program
will be presenting a four-hour seminar on several Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) policies and initiatives introduced over the last
several years relative to radio interoperability and frequency
narrowbanding.  
These policies and initiatives will have significant impacts on most
radio users, especially those within State and Local government.  The
seminar will educate stakeholders on the FCC policies and initiatives,
resulting impacts on radio operations, offer suggestions on how to
overcome obstacles, and allow participants to ask questions.
City/County/Town Administrators, Attorneys, Purchasing Agents and
Managers; Fire/Police/EMS Personnel; State Colleges/Universities; Public
Utilities; Hospitals; Other Interested Parties should attend these
meetings. 

These seminars will be held in Harrisonburg, VA. at the Harrisonburg
Rockingham Emergency Communications Center on March 15th, 2007 from
10:00 a.m. thru 2:00 p.m and in Blacksburg, VA at The Inn at Virginia
Tech and Skelton Conference Center on March 29th, 2007 from 10:00 a.m.
thru 2:00 p.m. 

A similar program will be offered at the Spring NENA/APCO Conference in
Va. Beach, April 26 & 27 and at the Virginia EMS Symposium in Norfolk in
November. 

There may be additional seminars hosted by VITA later this year, but I
do not have that information at this time.

There is no charge for these seminars and lunch will be provided,
however, registration is required.
