[Temslist] Council Committee Workgroup Opportunities

The Tidewater EMS Council committees utilize various workgroups to help
identify issues and work together to solve problems or improve EMS. The
EMS Medical Operations Committee recently discussed its workgroups and
participation. Some workgroups have great participation, others not so
good. Committee members agreed to search within their organizations and
jurisdictions to identify those who have a special interest in workgroup
activities (listed below). From the EMS council level, we are making an
effort to spread the word throughout the region about opportunities for
involvement and that additional participation is invited and encouraged.
If you are interested, contact your EMS Medical Operations Committee
representative (in the case of EMS agencies, its the jurisdiction's EMS
Chief or equivalent) or our office. The current workgroups are:
 
Education and protocols (staff contact: Laura Walker)
Mass casualty planning and operations (staff contact: Judy Shuck)
EMS performance improvement (staff contact: Laura Walker)
Promotions, annual awards and recruitment (staff contact Heidi Gamblin)
- meetings TBA
Medication and pharmacy exchange (staff contact: David Coulling)
 
These workgroups generally meet monthly. Our "Dates to Remember"
distributed each month on this TEMSList (and shown below for the next
two months) show specific meeting dates and locations. 
 
Again, if you have an interest in working in any of these areas, please
contact your MOC representative or our office 757 963-0632 (its best to
speak directly with the listed staff contact) or tidewater at vaems.org and
we'll make sure you're added to notifications.  We need and encourage
your involvement. Thank you.
