NORFOLK SET TO WELCOME NATIONAL 9/11 EXHIBIT

CITY PLANS PUBLIC VISITATION AT NAUTICUS

From: Charles Hartig

Office of the Mayor

The World Trade Center Memorial Foundation and Mayor Paul Fraim
announced that the Foundation's "9/11 Memorial Exhibit" will be in
Norfolk on September 19-20.

"We are honored that the foundation and its chairman, New York Mayor
Michael Bloomberg, selected Norfolk to host the visit of such a
prestigious and significant exhibit," Mayor Fraim said.

Mayor Fraim also announced that a special ceremony to celebrate the
exhibit's visit to Norfolk will be held on Wednesday, September 19 at 9
a.m. at Nauticus. A foundation spokesman said a family member of a World
Trade Center victim may be present for the ceremony. The public is
invited and the event is free, the Mayor said. Following the ceremony,
the exhibit will be open for public visitation.

"We want to offer a special invitation to Hampton Roads' first
responders - police officers, firefighters and EMT's," Mayor Fraim said.
"The exhibit's visit to Norfolk is a wonderful opportunity to pay
tribute to the courageous men and women who make our community a better
and safer place to live".

The exhibit tells the story of 9/11 from the point of view of the first
responders, survivors, volunteers and average people who were brought
together on that tragic day in the history of the United States. The
exhibit includes a timeline of the events leading up to the attack on
the World Trade Center, photographs and a short movie.

The exhibit also includes two massive steel beams that will be used in
the construction of the World Trade Center Memorial. Visitors to the
exhibit will be allowed to sign the beam.

The exhibit is designed to offer people the opportunity to reflect on
the events of 9/11, and to help the foundation raise the money to
finance the construction of the $350 million World Trade Center
Memorial. More than $300 million has already been pledged. Thus far,
contributions have been received from more than 35,000 people in 50
states and 27 foreign countries.
