In an effort to promote education and awareness related to the Virginia

of EMS has put together a DDNR Training Presentation. We are doing this
to address the increase usage of and questions pertaining to DDNR
Orders.
The presentation can be downloaded from our web site under the section
titled "What you need to know about DDNR" here:
http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/oems/ddnr/ddnr.asp
It includes discussion of such issues as:
* Advanced Directives
* Difference between Advanced Directive and DDNR Order
* The Virginia Code, Regulations and 2002 Amendment Highlights
* Types of DDNR orders and what constitutes a valid order?
* Appropriate EMS response to a valid or invalid DDNR Order
* Impact on local EMS providers
* Virginia's Durable DNR Protocol
The presentation is approximately one hour and upon request we can also
visit your area to conduct this training.
