Subject: Proposed Regional EMS Council Service Areas - Updated
Information
Recently the Office of EMS released additional information and maps to
explain how these resources were used to develop the proposed changes to
the existing Regional EMS Council service areas.
During the current public comment period, OEMS has already reviewed
additional information provided by other sources that support different
alignments of Regional EMS Council service areas. The original proposed
Regional EMS Council service area map (Map A) will remain on the OEMS
web site as there may be support for that option, and the public comment
period has not yet closed.
However, in order to promote an objective discussion of the important
issues related to regional coordination and planning, the OEMS has
developed a second map (Map B) that coincides with the Hospital
Preparedness Service Areas. Again, based on additional data and
information provided to OEMS, evidence supports Map B. Based on this, as
well as additional evidence, OEMS has also posted Map C, which slightly
alters Region C and Region F, and creates "Region H". All maps and
related information can be downloaded from the Regional Coordination
page of the OEMS website.
It is important to note the public comment period runs through the end
of February and no determination has been made concerning the final
Regional EMS Council service areas.
Please reference Map A, Map B or Map C when providing comments
concerning these proposals.
Thank you.
