Emergency Medical Technician Course to be held in Deltaville
An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course to be held in Deltaville is
open to anyone sixteen years of age or older and a desire to learn the
basics of emergency medical care. Graduates of the course are certified
as State of Virginia ambulance medical technicians (EMT-B).
Classes will begin November 27, 2007 and will continue until April 15,
2008. In addition to course requirements, students must pass the
Virginia state certification test.
Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Deltaville
Rescue Squad building from 7pm to 10pm and 6 additional Saturday classes
from 9am to 4pm. There is no charge for the course. Students will be
responsible for the cost of books, a $25 State testing fee, and $25 for
various course expenses. Text for the course will be the AAOS Emergency
Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured, 9th Edition. Rescue
squad members are reimbursed for their expenses.

The Deltaville Rescue Squad welcomes new members and will train them as
either Drivers or EMTs. The MCVRS has a Junior Rescue Squad for
qualified teens ages sixteen to seventeen.
