February 27 & 28, 2010, 8:30AM - 5:00PM
This two-day course is designed to prepare the infection control officer to
meet the requirements of the position under NFPA 1581, OSHA, and the Ryan

agency must have a designated officer to manage exposure issues for the
department. Understanding this role, as well as the varied aspects of this
job, is important to assist with department risk management and department

regulations that must be taken into account to establish a comprehensive
program. In addition, participants will learn the core components of an
effective post-exposure management program. The roles and responsibilities
of a designated officer and a job description are presented. Systematical
program formulation is presented to enable the course participant to return
to the workplace, set up and manage a fully functioning infection control
program. The well-trained designated officer will be an effective advocate
