ALS SKILLS STATIONS-Who Needs It?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ALS Skills Stations are currently scheduled to be held during the month of
September. These skill stations are designed to allow for providers to
demonstrate proficency in ALS skills as required by our medical director for
test waiver consideration. I would like to begin planning for these sessions,
so I need for any provider who will need to attend either of these sessions to
e-mail or call so that I can have some idea of how many folks to expect.

ALS Continuing Education-Special Guests
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are currently exploring the possibility of offering special continuing
education sessions to include local physcians and other experts in various
fields relating to EMS. Specifically, I have been in contact with staff at
both PRMC and SMH regarding possible topic ideas. I am hoping to schedule the
first of these sessions for the month of September. These classes would be
held quarterly, ideally at either a central location or an alternating
north/south basis. I am asking for your input on topics to be covered in
these lectures. Please e-mail me with your ideas and I will try to make it
happen! This is YOUR continuing education program!

To date, the following ideas are being explored

1. A trauma case study program presented by a PRMC trauma team member
2. A "street drug" program presented by local law enforcement
3. A session covering various catheters, tubes, and drains found in the home
   care setting.
4. YOUR IDEA HERE!

Please do not hesitate to call or e-mail with your thoughts!

Kevin
