BLS TRAINING ANNOUNCEMENT

Course:Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (1994)
 
Location:Tangier Volunteer Fire Department (Station #21) ~ Tangier Island, VA
 
Class Meets: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Schedule available from Course Coordinator)
 
Start Date: Friday, December 3rd, 1600 Hours

State Exam: March, 2012 (TBA)

Assisting Faculty:Patricia Drewer, Jimmy Rowley, Ray Miles

Registration Period: November 5-18 or until maximum enrollment (30) is reached. Late Registrations NOT accepted

Course Fees:(1) Textbook Deposit ~ $50.00 ~ Payable to Eastern Shore EMS Council (Refunded upon state certification)
                    (2) Course Fee ~ $25.00 ~ Payable to Kevin Holloway (for office supplies, etc.) Non-Refundable after 12/3/11
 
Course Pre-Requisites (Contact Course Coordinator with specific questions)
(1) Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
(2) Must be a minimum of 16 years of age as of the first day of class (12/3/11). Students under the age of 18 must also obtain 
     parental/guardian permission to attend the course
(3) Have no physical/mental impairment which would render the student incapable of performing the skills of an EMT-B
(4) Must have a valid CPR (Healthcare Provider or equivalent) at the beginning of the course
(5) Must not have been convicted of a Felony or other crime which would render the student ineligible to obtain state certification     
    (further information available from Course Coordinator)
(6) Must be clean and neat in appearance
 
NOTE: Students attending the class will be responsible for all fees associated with travel/lodging on Tangier Island.  Boat schedules available from the Course Coordinator.

(1) Station 21 Members and Tangier Island residents ~ Contact Anna Parks for application and related documents
(2) All others - download attached application and mail with all paperwork and course fees to:
