Over the last several weeks, I have received a number of e-mails and phone calls regarding the process for our Eastern Shore EMT-Enhanced providers who wish to eventually complete the Intermediate program through TCC, but who do not wish to repeat the Enhanced portion of the TCC program.
In talking with Lorna Ramsey, the program director at TCC, I have found that students who are presently certified at the EMT-Enhanced level would need only to challenge and pass the Final Exam for the TCC Enhanced program (Capstone Exam)
Several providers have offered to sit thorough the entire Enahnced class again in order for it to be recognized by TCC....this is not necessary.
TCC has offered to administer this test on the Eastern Shore with a large enough group of students. Patty Drewer and/or myself are willing to arrange a short CE program that would review material covered on the exam and then faciliate the administration of this test locally. Assuming students would be enrolling in the fall of 2007, students who passed the final exam would need only pass the TCC med-math exam and then be permitted to enroll directly into the Intermediate level courses.
The target dates for this CE program at present is April-May. Further information will follow.
All providers are welcome to attend the Enhanced program for CE hours as needed.
Thanks,
Kevin Holloway
