[ES-ALS-Providers] EMT-Enhanced Course

Good Evening,
   
  On November 17th, an e-mail was sent announcing the EMT-Enhanced Course at Station 10 beginning in January 2008.  Nearly three weeks later, I have three (3) students pre-registered for the class.  This class has been announced via e-mail (all three servers) and via 911 announcements and the response has been disappointing to say the least.  I am nearing the crucial point where certain decisions need to be made regarding textbook ordering, etc.  Therefore, I am asking that interested students contact me NO LATER THAN 1700 Hours on Friday, December 7th, 2007.  At that point, if insufficient enrollment exists, the course will face cancellation.  Keep in mind that this would be the first time in recent memory that an EMS training program on the Shore would be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.  This program would not likely be offered before Spring 2009. While I hope to see the numbers increase, I discourage people from signing up just to "sign-up." This is an ALS
 level course and as such demands a little more work than EMT-B.  Our local EMT-Enhanced Program has a proud history of producing quality entry-level ALS providers, it is my hope that this will continue with this Spring 2008 program.
