EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
Post requested per Bonnie Enoch, ED Nurse Manager
All ambulance personnel using Shore Memorial Hospital.
Accomack and Northampton County Career and Volunteers, Eastern Shore Ambulance, Medical Transport, Virginia Lifeline, Lifestar Ambulance.
If you are using the Emergency Department for access to the 2nd floor, ICU, or maternity via the back elevators you must stop in the ED and see the charge nurse for a rescue squad visitor pass.
The hospital has placed an electronic pass device at the back door entrance into the ED. (The number keypad is gone) A simple sweep of the rescue squad visitor pass over the front of the electronic pass will open the door lock allowing you access back through the ED.
The pass will need to be signed out and signed back in upon your return through the ED.
Air ambulances will continue to have access through these doors via security escort. There is no change in procedure for air ambulances.
If you should have any questions, please contact Bonnie Enoch, Shore Memorial Hospital, ED Nurse manager at 757-414-8686.
